I was treated to a surprise visit to Mankas. We stayed in the fisherman's cabin and it was lovely. No TV, no clocks, but a great hot tub and and outdoor shower made this a memorable trip for me.
One of the most unique, comfortable, charming, out of a story book, accommodations I’ve ever had the opportunity to stay at. The beds alone are absolutely incredible, with perfect feel, soft yet just enough firm, while being a true vacation for each night you stay. A huge fireplace is in the main room in the Mankas Cabin, with leather couches and chairs to chill, relax and imbibe in. A stereo has an iPod with great music to help the mood. The friendly staff offers you a helpful check in and brings an amazing breakfast that will make the rest of the world melt away. This is worth all the price. Local and seasonal items are brought to your cabin on period correct plate ware. The Arts & Crafts vibe is intoxicating. The outdoor shower amazing and luxurious, the tub fit for a king | queen. I’ve stayed here several times and can’t wait to return!!!
Amazing experience at Manka's. The staff and owners are welcoming, they go out of their way to make your stay special. The fishing lodge cabin was decorated with taste and filled with beautiful antiques, from the beautiful and gigantic fireplace to the tub. The view in the morning is breathtaking. Breakfast and newspaper tray is delivered at the door step every morning. You know it's there by a knock on the door. The outdoor shower is one of a kind offering a view on the lake as you shower. Possibly the nicest place I've ever stayed at. THANK YOU for making our time memorable.
We first heard of Manka's as a recommendation from a friend for a quick weekend getaway. We have been back and have stayed in nearly all of the cabins/rooms and have had a variety of meals. The rooms have tons of character and the food is incredible. The staff and service are always excellent. We love it more every time.
Absolutely amazing stay at the boatman quarters, overlooking Tomales Bay. The room was extremely cozy, aesthetically wonderful and just beyond any expectations. This has earned a big spot in our hearts and expect to be coming back for years to come.
No other place I know of on the California coast that will treat you as well as Manka’s. Everything is thought of from the flashlight keys to the trees in the rooms to the chocolate at turn down service. The breakfast is hands down the best I’ve ever had. Do not miss this opportunity to stay 5 stars in tamales bay.
don't come too early or there will be interminable waiting between courses (the staff seems to stage things so that by dessert everybody is served at the same time regardless of if you sat down at 6 or at 7:30. that being said, the food, perpared with fresh local ingredients, is always sensational and you will have at least one dish that knocks your hiking boots off and that you've never tasted better.
It is breathtakingly beautiful with elegant touches. Warm, cozy and comfortable. The food and service is the best I’ve experienced. It is a unique and one of a kind place.
